4 steps to conditioning your hair for maximum results

How to Condition Your Hair Properly
  • Step 1: Choose the right conditioner

    1

Just like one glove does not fit all sizes, one conditioner is not suitable for all hair types. You need to identify your hair needs, select the right conditioner and use it regularly for desired results. For example, Sunsilk’s Perfect Straight Conditioner is best for straight hair, and Sunsilk Dream Soft & Smooth is best for curly hair as it adds extra moisture.

  • Step 2: Know where to start

    2

Knowing where to apply your hair conditioner is essential. Wrong application may cause the scalp to get oily very quickly, which will make you doubt the benefits of conditioning and discontinue it altogether. It is the ends of your hair that require the nourishment that conditioner provides, not the scalp, therefore start from the ends and go all the way up covering the length. Avoid applying conditioner to the scalp!

  • Step 3: Leave it on for 2-3 minutes

    3

Simply applying a conditioner to your hair will not be that effective, the key is to know where to apply it and how long you leave it on for, so that it can work for your hair. Right after shampooing, your hair is soaking wet, making it harder for the conditioner to stay on. Squeeze excess water out of your hair before applying the conditioner, and then leave it on for about 2-3 minutes for the conditioner to work its magic in your hair.

  • Step 4: Be consistent

    4

Just like with a diet or exercise, only consistency will help you achieve your goals. If you fancy smooth tangle-free hair, inconsistent conditioning is not enough. Condition your hair properly during every wash. Only if used regularly, you will start noticing the benefits of conditioning and the results you have been waiting for – silky smooth, tangle-free hair
