Having thick hair certainly helps if you want your hair to look good and behave the way you want it to. But not having naturally thick hair is not the end of the world!
Not in the slightest! With these few hair remedies you can learn how to get thick hair and enjoy it too!
Use a Volumising Shampoo: Hair care begins with a good hair wash. Shampooing your hair to keep your scalp clean is essential.
But if you do it too often, you may end up reversing the positive effects of your shampoo. The rules are simple: shampoo your hair no more than 2–3 times a week. Instead of hot, use lukewarm or cold water. Follow up with conditioner.
For best results, use Sunsilk Thick & Long shampoo and conditioner.
Also, for extra volume, flip your hair upside down when you blow dry and watch the volume grow as your hair dries!
Boost Hair Growth with Oil Treatments
Giving your scalp regular massages with pure coconut oil is one of the best natural methods for thicker hair.
Heat the coconut oil until warm and apply to the scalp by massaging with your fingers tips in gentle circular motions.
As well as coconut oil, you can also use other oils such as olive oil, jojoba oil and pure almond oil.
After the massage, steam your hair with a hot towel. If done weekly, it stimulates hair follicles and promotes healthy hair growth.
Blow-dry and back-comb
You can you use a blow dryer to add extra volume to your hair and style it to perfection.
But remember to always apply heat protection serum or spray before blow-drying! Back-combing also beautifully adds volume to your hair.
Take small sections of your hair and tease them to add volume while blow-drying.
It's common knowledge that junk food quickly adds inches to your waistline. But do you realise that it could also damage your hair?
Your hair needs healthy food to get its share of vitamins and minerals to be able to grow longer and thicker.
Make sure your daily diet includes fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, eggs, dairy products and the right amount of protein.
You should also drink a sufficient amount of water to keep your body hydrated.
Use a wide-tooth comb rather than a fine-tooth comb. Do not wrap a towel around your head after a hair wash, instead, lightly pat it dry with a towel.
In harsh weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold weather, cover your hair with a scarf or a hat to protect your hair from damage.
Having thick hair is easier than you think and you don’t have to be born with it!
Simply take care of your hair, love it and enjoy seeing it behave the way you want it to!
