WHY YOUR HAIR NEEDS DEEP CONDITIONING

HOW DEEP HAIR CONDITIONING HELPS HEALTHIER HAIR GROWTH

It's certainly a great feeling to have straight, long hair beaming with health! Unfortunately, for some it's more of a dream than reality. Reality often requires using various heat styling tools and therefore suffering from dry and frizzy hair! So how can we fix this? A deep conditioning treatment!

Deep-conditioning hair treatments restore moisture and repair dry, brittle hair. This treatment smooths out the outer layer of the hair called the cuticle, and improves its overall health. Selecting the right products and using proper techniques are essential steps to getting the best results from a deep conditioning hair treatment. If a trip to the salon is not in your plans, we're sharing some deep conditioning tips that could give your hair the boost it needs.

    Shampoo right

Start off by choosing the right shampoo for improving your hair's health. Shampoo which is too strong or too mild for your hair can either lead to dryness or oiliness. For straight hair we recommend Sunsilk’s Perfect Straight shampoo with it's unique straight-lock technology, developed to keep your hair straight right after shampooing.

    Choose the right conditioner

Choose a deep conditioner that recommends that you apply it and leave it on at least for 15 – 20 minutes. There are different ways of conditioning for different hair types. For instance, coloured hair requires more powerful conditioning, whereas a dandruff-heavy scalp needs a different treatment. It is important you select a product that is likely to address your hair problem.

    Technique

After shampooing, apply a deep conditioning treatment to damp hair. To increase its efficiency, use a wide-tooth comb to spread the conditioner evenly throughout the hair. Follow the time instructions on the product to see the best results. It is advisable to cover your conditioned hair while waiting to allow the conditioner to thoroughly penetrate your hair without rinsing it off.

Deep conditioning of your hair at least twice weekly will give you healthy hair regardless of the problems you might have.
